The island of Majorca has reinvented itself as an ideal travel year-around destination. The charms of this Mediterranean island are many. To the diversity of her nature a mayor work have improved the tourist infrastructure, like hotels, roads, parks, squares, restaurants. The gastronomy including local wines, has improved remarkably.
The noisy and party places are in isolated sites, and the whole island now resembles to a beautiful and well-cared tourist theme park. Probably the best face that Majorca can offer to visitors is early spring, when seven million almond trees blossom and as many citrus trees offer their marvelous fragrances. The Tramontana mountain on the West cost offers a unique light to the Mediterranean where gods seem to offers their best gifts.
The capital of the island, Palma has all the charms of a middle-sized Spanish town, with the additional bonus of important cultural sight like the Cathedral or the Old Town. Among its inhabitants, we find many celebrities. In summer days you can meet just passing by doing the daily shopping Michel Douglas, Claudia Schiffer, Michael Shumacher, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Boris Becker and many others, among them, of course Majorca´s own golden boy Rafael Nadal or the Spanish Royal family.
All these people cannot be wrong. Majorca´s charms, won the heart of her most famous tourist, the composer Frederic Chopin, 160 years ago. On the island, the Polish maestro composed several of his most beautiful preludes.
Mallorcan uudet kasvot
Mallorca on kuin uudesti syntynyt ihanteellinen matkakohde ympäri vuoden. Saarella on monta valttikorttia: lukuisiin luonnonkauniisiin antimiin voi lisätä merkittävät projektit, jotka ovat parantaneet matkailualan infrastruktuuria, kuten hotellit, tiet, puistot, torit, ravintolat ja julkisivut. Myös gastronomiaan on viime aikoina satsattu paljon. Erityisesti pitää mainita paikalliset viinit, joiden laatua on parannettu huomattavasti.
Vanhasta meluisasta Mallorcasta ei ole tietokaan. Koko saari on nyt kuin yhtä suurta ja hyvin hoidettua teemapuistoa. Mallorca on ehkä parhaimmillaan keväällä, kun seitsemän miljoonaa pähkinäpuuta kukkii ja yhtä monta appelsiinipuuta levittää hedelmäntuoksuaan. Saaren länsipuolen Tramontana-vuoret tarjoaa ainutlaatuista valoa kohti Välimerta, missä Jumalat jakavat parhaita antimiaan herkälle matkailijalle.
Saaren pääkaupunki Palma on kansainvälinen metropoli ja juuri ihmisen kokoinen. Kaupungissa yli muiden nousee kaksi kulttuurinähtävyyttä, tuomiokirkko ja Vanhakaupunki. Palmassa asuu paljon julkkiksia, joihin kesäpäivänä voi törmätä kaduilla tai ruokaostoksilla. Saarella viettää lomiaan Michel Douglas, Claudia Shiffer, Michael Shumacher, Boris Becker, Catherine Zeta-Jones ja totta kai Mallorcan oma kultapoika Rafael Nadal. Myös Espanjan kuninkaallinen perhe lomailee saarella.
Maailmantähdet eivät voi olla väärässä. Mallorca valloitti jo 160 vuotta sitten erään kuuluisan turistin sydämen. Puolalainen säveltäjä Frederic Chopin sälvelsi Mallorcalla monet kauniit preludinsa.
